Glenn Grafelman  New Work

January 30 — March 6

We are pleased to announce our upcoming exhibition of new paintings and unique photograms by Minneapolis artist Glenn Grafelman. His latest works will be on view in the gallery from January 30th through March 6th. A preview reception open to the public will be held on Friday, January 29th from 5 - 8 pm.

Glenn Grafelman’s new paintings embody the essence of American abstraction from its historic beginning to its present-day interpretation. His fluid technique and complex color palette flow over taught linen surfaces, celebrating an epiphany of spirit and emotional bliss. They bring to bear a positive sensation as we contemplate their objective beauty and transcendental inspiration.

“Through abstract painting, I examine and locate a psychological space where nonobjectivity imagines the departure of the physiological spirit. Personal beliefs regarding spiritual awe, devotion, transcendence and ethereal afterlife are the core of my creative practice and research.”

Glenn Grafelman is a graduate of the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, University of California, Berkeley, and the School of Visual Arts, NYC. He has exhibited his work extensively throughout the U.S. including the Bronx Museum for the Arts, The Drawing Center, and White Columns in New York. His work is included in numerous collections among them Target Corporation and General Mills.
