Cherith Lundin Cherith Lundin’s most recent work
moves back and forth between abstraction and realism. Her paintings,
drawings and installations derived from real places and real situations
project a more ethereal statement. The very ordinary subject matter of
slept-in bedding is transformed into large-scale panoramas suggesting
barren topography or volumes of water stretching across vast uninhabited
spaces. By contrast, the very same subject matter is isolated in small
intimate studies referencing abstract sculptural forms. “More than
anything else, I want my work to create an experience for the viewer
that allows the known and familiar to be seen anew." |
