Melanie
Pankau
Melanie Pankau continues to be influenced
by the organic repetition and pattern so often present in nature. These
natural occurrences and images are stepping-off points for her predominantly
abstract paintings that feature linear compositions on fields of ethereal
color. Her drawings are more precise delicate linear interpretations
without the use of color, however they synthesize similar imagery and
concepts.
Melanie Pankau is a resident of Chicago and a graduate of the Minneapolis
College of Art and Design. She has exhibited her work in the Twin Cities
area in locations including the Weisman Art Museum and the Soo Visual Art
Center. She has also exhibited at the Rochester Art Center in Rochester,
Minnesota, the Winona Art Center in Winona Minnesota, and the Artist Project
during the Art Chicago art fair. Her work is in several public and private
collections including Boston Scientific Corporation and Westin Hotels
